Reviewing and activating a client

A new client stays a Draft until someone activates them. The Review Client page shows the whole registration on one screen, so you can check it before the client becomes active.

Open the review page

The review page opens by itself when you click Proceed to Review at the end of the New Client wizard.

To open it for a draft you saved earlier:

  1. Go to Clients and open the client. Drafts show the status DRAFT.
  2. In the top-right of the client page, click the Review & activate (tick) icon.

What the review page shows

The page is headed Client Registration Review. At the top you see the status Draft — Pending Activation and the client number. Below that, the details are grouped into sections:

  • Personal Information: names, father's and spouse's names, date of birth, gender, marital status, education level, occupation.
  • Contact Details: phone, email, group, and any addresses entered.
  • Identity & KYC: the ID document type and number, when an ID was uploaded.
  • Next of Kin: shown when next-of-kin details were entered.
  • Business & Financial Profile: shown when business details were entered. Includes business type, years in business, monthly income, savings balance, existing debt, and the group-membership questions.
  • Bank Accounts: shown when the client has bank accounts on file.

A dash (—) means the field was left blank.

note

The Savings Balance on the review page shows 0 or a dash for a new client. The opening savings deposit is credited only when you click Activate Client.

Activate the client

  1. Check every section carefully.
  2. If something needs changing, click Back to Edit. The wizard reopens with the details filled in. Make your changes, go to the last step and click Proceed to Review again.
  3. When everything is correct, click Activate Client.

You see "Client activated successfully." and the client's page opens with the status Active.

When you activate a client, the platform:

  • Changes the status from Draft to Active. The client can now apply for loans.
  • Credits any opening savings deposit from registration to the client's savings account.
  • Charges the registration fee, if your organisation charges one. When fees are taken from savings, the opening deposit is credited first, so it can cover the fee. Any fee left unpaid shows as Outstanding fees on the client's page.
caution

Activation does not check whether the KYC documents are complete. Before you activate, confirm that the required ID and photograph are on file.

Click Print to print the review page as a paper registration form, for example for the client to sign. The printout is headed Client Registration Form and shows the client number and today's date. The on-screen buttons are left off the printout.
