Getting started
The ASAL Platform is the system your branch uses to run its lending and savings business. It keeps the record of every client and group, takes a loan from application through approval and disbursement to the last daily collection, tracks savings, and produces the reports and cash figures managers need.
This help site is written for branch staff: Collection Officers, Branch Managers, Area Managers and Administrators. It explains what each screen is for and how to complete everyday tasks.
What you can do in the platform
- Register and manage clients and groups - capture a client's details and documents, put clients into groups, and assign a field officer.
- Run small loans - capture a loan application, move it through the approval stages, disburse it, record daily collections, and follow up loans that fall behind.
- Run a savings club - set savings goals for clients and record their contributions, where your organisation offers this product.
- See how the branch is doing - dashboard figures, reports, and cash management.
- Administer your organisation - invite staff, set their roles, and configure products and fees.
What you see depends on two things:
- Your organisation's products. Each organisation chooses which products it uses. If your organisation does not use the Savings Club, for example, you will not see it at all.
- Your role. Each person has one role in the organisation, such as Collection Officer or Branch Manager. Your role decides which menu items and actions are available to you. See Roles and permissions.
